Fashion Slow Lane!

Interesting thought I came across today:  Don’t be afraid of the end of your life on this planet; be afraid of a life unlived.  You don’t have to live 100 years; you just have to live right now while you have the moment you are in.  Life doesn’t always give you second chances, so when a door is in front of you, open it.  I have always tried to be true to my passions, but often find myself off track chasing a paycheck instead of my passion.   I am sure this happens to millions of Americans who are working in jobs they hate, or are stuck in relationships out of obligation.   How can you be true to yourself and still make a living or have the courage to follow your passion?  That is another blog topic.  Or maybe not, it sounds kind of new-age-ish.  I am not new age usually.   I consider myself a very practical person, but at the same time I like to reflect on the big picture while living the day to day life in the slow lane. ...

I realize that stress ages a lot of us beyond our years...what is the key to managing stress? It seems like life is either crazy insane busy or dull.  It is hard to find that middle ground.  It would be ideal to just work part time to make ends meet and the rest of the time enjoy your hobbies, travel or exercise, but in the USA today, it seems like the only way to make ends meet is for everyone to work full time.  (unless you are born with a silver spoon-I was born with a plastic spoon) What do you do to handle stress?  I try to exercise at the gym in my apartment, but I don't always make it, and in the nicer months I like to run outside.   That is what I miss about living in California is that I could exercise outside all year round.  In Seattle, its limited. I don't know about you, but I have watched a lot of dumb reality shows over the past decade.  The one that is the most addictive and annoying is "The Bachelor" shows.  They always say the word "Amazing" - its overused so much you just want to throw things at the TV! I found some sunglasses that are more worthy of the word Amazing in my opinion.  Here we go..these are fun, funky, eclectic and aaaammmaaazzziiiiinnnng! $290 at Nordstrom.  I just have to have them! I have been collecting and wearing designer sunglasses for 20 years! I have never lost a pair and I love them all.  It is one accessory that always makes me feel cool and fashionable.  (fun factoid: It also prevents crows feet.  I have very few crowsfeet for my age because I wear sunglasses year round.)  Have a nice day and Happy New Year 2013!  If you find any AMAZING accessories - please share them with me!

What are you looking forward to in New Year? I am looking forward to a more relaxing life style, new opportunities and hopefully some fun travel.  I did not get to go very many places in 2012 and it was a really stressful year, so I am looking forward to a new year.    Happy New Year! Italy

It seems like bad things always happen around Christmas time.  Like wtf is up with mass shootings in grade schools?  Does everyone really need to own a gun.  Seems to me they kill more people than help.  You dont hear many stories about how a gun saved 20 young students, you just hear about how they killed them. I dont need a gun to protect myself.  I figure if someone wants to kill me they will and I will get to heaven sooner.  This world is not my home, I am just passing through, really.  As we all are.  But it would be nice if the world was more like heaven instead of hell, at least around the holidays. I avoid the news. You should to. Be well and hug your kid and dog.
