How Do You Balance Work/Home Life? I Don't.

Image
My answer is:   You don't .  Right now I leave for work on Monday night I don't come back for four days.  The oldest pug has separation anxiety and barks all night, so we had to take care of that.  The vet put him on xanax.  My child is old enough now to make her own lunch and we share a car pool with the lady down the hall to get her to camp and back each day of the summer.   Her dad picks her up and the other two kids who live down the hall and makes sure she gets to bed on time. The laundry backs up.  The pugs pee on the floor and no one notices for several days.  The towels get left at camp so now we have no towels in the house.  I spent 4 hours in the basement today doing laundry because I was gone all week working in Los Angeles and I live in San Diego.  Crazy, yes I know.  Work/life balance? What is that?  This is my life and its not balanced at all but I like it.  I created it. You don't alw...

New Shipment In for Rocco Sauvage! Made in USA!

Just Landed!  We have new belts in from our factory in Southern California.   We have several new styles of men's leather belts..all handmade.  The buckles I get from a Florence designer and the belts are designed and made right here in Southern California. The design featured here "SAGEBRUSH"  is one of our best sellers, with a vintage finished brown paint buckle and a cowhide strap with hand fitted studs.   This belt feels like it has been handed down a few generations ago to your own closet, and its was built to last .  Wait. That sounds like a Ram commercial tag line or is it Ford?.(ooooppps!)  Anyway, our belts are made to last for a few decades so its more of an investment piece you can count on for many years to come to hold up your jeans, pants and maybe your next of kin later on down the road.   Life is a journey..let Rocco Sauvage be part of it. hm mm..this tag line is not sound much better than built to last... To check out this d...

Life In The Barrio - Southern Davao, The Philippines

Image
Life in the Barrio A young American woman views on life in a remote village in Southern Davao, The Philippines  (Disclaimer:  I wrote this when I was 25 years old and this story is based own personal experiences & travel journal entries at that time) I have traveled to the Philippines three times. I always go to the same place in Southern Davao on Mindanao Island. Life in “the barrio” I visit there is very interesting.  The barrio consists of a group of houses in one area of the province, like a subdivision of the main town. In Southern Davao, most of the families live in the same general area. When a couple gets married, they build a house on their family plot of land, so everyone in the family lives closely together.  Gossip.  Everyone knows what everyone else in doing; gossip is the mainstay of life. Because there are no telephones and no jobs for...
