My Other Love ....Thai food!

Image
I have many loves in my life.  I love fashion and travel.  I also love Thai food.  It is my hobby to go to Thai restaurants in new cities and in my own area.   I currently live most of the time in San Diego and have visited several Thai restaurants.  (Seattle has better Thai food).   I also go to Thailand once in a while.  My most recent visit was in March this year.  I am not much of a cook and have not really tried to cook Thai food.   That is where "Golf" comes in.  I met Golf many years ago when she was an exchange student at Washington State University where I attended.   Golf was an international student from Krabi, Thailand.  She was really into going to the gym and cooking.  Fast forward a few decades later and she is still into going to the gym and cooking. I met up with her in Bangkok this year and follow her face book posts of Amazing Thai food.  Here is a few of my favorites.   More to come soon a...

New Addition

Image
I am been so busy with my freelance clients and summer activities that I have not had time to blog.   I am in the middle of working on two huge collections for Spring and Fall 2015.  Crazy how far out we have to work in the fashion industry. In the meantime, we have a new addition to our family... Meet "Marco" the pug.  I named him after a guy I dated from Milan, Italy way back in the day.   It has been about 6 months since Rocco passed away so Dante was getting very depressed and lethargic.  Every since we brought Marco home, Dante has perked up.   Hopefully they will be good companions. Ciao for now, TS

The Vortex. Sedona, Arizona and The Space Age!

Image
I recently drove  9 hours across the desert from San Diego to Sedona, Arizona.   The drive was the long, boring and hot.  (not sure how else to describe the Arizona desert).   The average outside temperature was 104 degrees.   Driving across the Arizona desert in a 10 year old Jetta after the engine light comes on is not exactly intelligent - but we made it.  We made it after several stops to cool down and to make sure the engine did not overheat.   Over the years I have heard about Sedona being a place for New Age types and a great place to visit. We met up with my parents in Sedona for the weekend.   I have head all about how the spa treatments in Sedona are a must do.   I did not book in advance so the best I could do was a chair massage, 20 minutes for $30.00 plus tip.   I signed my mom and I up for our mini chair massage.  An older woman was the masseuse and during our short session to tried to explain how energ...

New Shipment In for Rocco Sauvage! Made in USA!

Image
Just Landed!  We have new belts in from our factory in Southern California.   We have several new styles of men's leather belts..all handmade.  The buckles I get from a Florence designer and the belts are designed and made right here in Southern California. The design featured here "SAGEBRUSH"  is one of our best sellers, with a vintage finished brown paint buckle and a cowhide strap with hand fitted studs.   This belt feels like it has been handed down a few generations ago to your own closet, and its was built to last .  Wait. That sounds like a Ram commercial tag line or is it Ford?.(ooooppps!)  Anyway, our belts are made to last for a few decades so its more of an investment piece you can count on for many years to come to hold up your jeans, pants and maybe your next of kin later on down the road.   Life is a journey..let Rocco Sauvage be part of it. hm mm..this tag line is not sound much better than built to last... To check out this d...

Painting. Who me? No Rules.

Image
I have never taken a real painting class.  I don't know anything about paints or how to paint.  The other day I had some time to browse a local La Jolla book store.  They had a small section of paints and brushes.  I picked up some cheap brushes and paints.   Here is my first creation.  It looks kind of like something a 3rd grader would paint, but also there is a touch of magic to it.  One of my friends said they would buy it at a flea market.  That does not help my creative ego, but the nice thing about painting with no agenda is that there is no rules. A face with a box around it? Cool.  Add some grass.  That's is fine.  Does it mean anything? Not necessarily.  Was it fun and relaxing?  Yes.  Then, perfect, that is the whole point. What is your inspiration?   NO RULES.   My first painting in 10 years.  No rules.
