If you follow my blog you will notice I am a little neurotic.  That is just me.  The things I blog about can vary from a heavy bare your soul topic to a  blog post about my crazy travels to Third world countries where I picked up lice.   Yep... just me.  Crazy. Real. Honest.  I love travel, fashion, business and Miu Miu.

On a lighter note today I want to talk about my favorite fashion brand. EVER.   That is Miu Miu.  The average American has never heard of it but most of my fashion friends know and love Miu Miu.  Its the younger sister of Italy's Prada, same designer just more whimsical.  Miu Miu is know for its fun, trendy, embellished statement pieces.    I used to collect their shoes when I lived in Los Angeles and there was a Miu Miu flagship store in West Hollywood.  That wonderful store closed a long time ago, so now I only buy Miu Miu when I go to Bologna, Italy for the Linea Pelle trade show.   The stores in Italy have the best selection.  You can purchase Miu Miu at Neiman Marcus or other high end department stores in the USA, however the selection is very limited.



Miu Miu has always delighted me and they are the brand that I am most inspired by when I design my own collections.   I love the use of bright colors, whimsical features and bold shapes.   To view their entire Spring 2014 collection go to www.miumiu.com

Fashion Accessories Lead Time

As a freelance fashion designer and consultant I spent a lot of time educating my clients about the process.   There have been many times where after I design a handbag or accessories collection for a client the expect to have the samples in a few weeks.   I put this timeline together to educate people that are new to the fashion industry about the lead time. Designing and launching a fashion collection of handbags or other accessories is extremely time consuming and complicated.  There are many steps to the process and it takes months (not weeks) to launch a line. My goal as a fashion consultant is not only to make beautiful products that sell but also to manage the complicated process for my clients.  I enjoy the process and have been managing this product development and production process for 15 years.   It is amazing to see your sketch turn into a final wearable product! We Don't Exist to Please People

  Don't allow anyone to take away your happiness or your life because they are not comfortable with the choices you have made in FOR YOUR OWN LIFE.  The  title is a bit misleading. I don't exist to please people. It took me a long time to figure that out. One of the main things I noticed after I was about 30 years of age and got married was that I had a lot of people noticing how I lived my life, my career, my house, and basically everything in general. Before I got married I was a bit of a nomad and traveled all over the world. At that time, if people were judging me, I was too busy flying to Thailand or Amsterdam to notice, and my house was a rented room on the beach in Los Angeles.  After I got married, the criticism started rolling in like Thunder. First, it was, my apartment or house was not big enough. (sorry rent is sky-high in Los Angeles), then when we bought our first house, it was still not big enough.
