New Treasures in Storage!

Moving from Washington to California has been one of the most stressful events this past few years.  The fun part was  I had to empty a storage in Seattle, old boxes I had not gone through in years.   It has been fun to read old love letters and dig through all photos.   I found old photos from the time I was a movie double in Phuket, Thailand.  Wow.  I had a pretty interesting life before I got settled down and started the domestic bliss (really is that what they call it?)   I will post some photos soon of those times!  It is interesting how the adventures of the past have shaped who I am now..

I decided I will start to travel solo again. It is one of those things that I have not done for years and I miss it.  Sometimes you have to be true to yourself and do what makes you happy.  (I have put off this for a long time)  My next trip I plan to go to Asia by myself to meet up with old friends and enjoy what I used to do every year...go to Asia for a few weeks and enjoy the culture.

So as far as digging through old photos..its amazing to relive old adventures and find old photo shoots...

Fashion Accessories Lead Time

As a freelance fashion designer and consultant I spent a lot of time educating my clients about the process.   There have been many times where after I design a handbag or accessories collection for a client the expect to have the samples in a few weeks.   I put this timeline together to educate people that are new to the fashion industry about the lead time. Designing and launching a fashion collection of handbags or other accessories is extremely time consuming and complicated.  There are many steps to the process and it takes months (not weeks) to launch a line. My goal as a fashion consultant is not only to make beautiful products that sell but also to manage the complicated process for my clients.  I enjoy the process and have been managing this product development and production process for 15 years.   It is amazing to see your sketch turn into a final wearable product! We Don't Exist to Please People

  Don't allow anyone to take away your happiness or your life because they are not comfortable with the choices you have made in FOR YOUR OWN LIFE.  The  title is a bit misleading. I don't exist to please people. It took me a long time to figure that out. One of the main things I noticed after I was about 30 years of age and got married was that I had a lot of people noticing how I lived my life, my career, my house, and basically everything in general. Before I got married I was a bit of a nomad and traveled all over the world. At that time, if people were judging me, I was too busy flying to Thailand or Amsterdam to notice, and my house was a rented room on the beach in Los Angeles.  After I got married, the criticism started rolling in like Thunder. First, it was, my apartment or house was not big enough. (sorry rent is sky-high in Los Angeles), then when we bought our first house, it was still not big enough.
